Did a bit of research and apparently they are a vintage world war 1 pair of brass metal military binoculars, still working just fine, all lenses are present and in tact with no cracks or breaks, has working focus adjust turning knob in centre, can all be completely unscrewed and taken apart for cleaning, This is a very old item and so has a couple of small dents only on the eye piece which correspond to the age but body has no damage. This is a gorgeous box made by a prisoner of the 1st world war. Inside it is written "Present of a War Prisoner and signed J. B Reypens" (I think not 100% sure about the last letter) The front clasp no longer locks and the rear right hinge needs screws, also the rear right back has a small split.
