9ct gold pink topaz Riviera necklace
This was past down from partners great great grandad, he was a chauffeur at a stately home in mid Wales, he also did other jobs, like chimney sweeping this necklace came out of a nest in the chimney. He was allowed to keep. My partner remembers playing with it as a child. Queen Victoria visited stately home, and I believe someone high up was hung at this place. I have taken it to cardiff antique shop, their opinion: stunning item, Georgian, early Victorian, handmade, pink topaz or paste, that people used to hide expensive items in their chimneys. She was delighted to see such a lovely piece. Partners daughter is 21 soon, and has graduation coming up, this is reason for sale. If anyone knows more about this item, would love to hear from you. I took it to an auctioneers in Wiltshire last week, but no valuer was present that day. (Guy from London branch told me to take it in person! 2 trains, 2 buses, 45 min walk each way to be told they will put it in van and take it to islington branch for their upcoming auction. I declined! It's 15 inches long, (38cm) Handmade It's grams total weight. Not sure about stones, pink topaz or paste. The stone on the clasp is loose, needs 'remounting, back of clasp has minor scratches, small dints, needs professional clean. See pics. Total stones 32 Unsure how many carats, they are different sizes and old barrel cut. We are hoping for £600, ovno!!! Don't hesitate to ask questions and if anyone thinks they know more about item, would be grateful for advice. No original box. But have spare old box. Thanks. Ad ID: Delivery Service Consumer Credit
