WESTONE THUNDER I BASS GUITAR - RARE RED FINISH

I am selling my fantastic quality Westone Thunder 1 bass guitar, made in the highly regarded Matsumoku factory in Japan in . Matsumoku also made the lovely Aria guitars at the time. It is a very rare all-maple version, finished in a lovely red colour. This red version is, along with the all black finish, the rarest of the Thunder 1 bass guitar range.....it is hardly ever seen for sale! The bass is passive and has a single 'Hard Puncher' pickup, which is very powerful and I believe was made by DiMarzio at the time. Cosmetic condition is very good for its age, although there are of course a couple of dings on the edge of the body. The fretwork is still in fantastic condition! This bass has a punchy sound very reminiscent of a P-bass, with the added clarity of the hard maple body. Any questions, just ask. Early s Westone Thunder 1 Japanese solid body guitar

Early Japanese Westone Thunder 1 Solid Body Guitar. In very good condition for a 35+ year old guitar. Only has some minor marks/grazes and a dink on the back of the neck. It’s all original and sounds amazing with a proper 80s howl from this solid and weighty body. Made from Ash, Maple and Walnut. It has a nice smooth low action and a great range of sounds through its toggle switch. All in all a great collectible Japanese Matsumoku factory guitar.

Aria Pro II SB- Bass Guitar - Walnut Finish

A VERY rare find this one. I haven't seen another walnut finish on an ash body version of the SB-, and the look is stunning. The serial number on this one is , which dates it as one of the VERY VERY early ones in – so this bass is 37 years old! It was crafted in Japan at the legendary Matsumoko facility. Build quality, tone and playability are exceptional. The headstock has the “bat ears” design that was used on these very early ones. The bass definitely has the vintage SB look with that distinct body, inlays, and headstock complete with the classic Aria Pro II logo and paragraph worth of copyright info. It has a parallel neck, so tight spacing, lending itself to fast playing, with brass nut, brass bridge. It is not completely original - the original pickup being swapped for a Kent Armstrong version by the previous owner, but I have the original pickup (see pic), which will be supplied with the bass, in case the next owner wishes to reinstall. As seen in the photos, it’s in very clean condition. It has of course been used throughout its life, so has a few minor marks that I’ve tried to photograph. Fret wear is minimal.
