She was built in by Westerly Yachts and has had many improvements and updates in equipment since then.   Designed by Laurent Giles, the Konsort's interior is the pinnacle of the development of what is called the "Standard Layout", with its forecabin/heads/ saloon/galley and chart-table arrangement that is so well suited to our northern way of sailing.  There is plenty of locker-age and the berths are good and wide. The galley and navigational area are conventional and functional giving a good overall impression of spaciousness.  Six people (one double + 4 individual berths) can be accommodated in comfort.  There is and electric toilet and wash hand basin with presurised hot and cold water. This vessel is fully equiped with every type of navigational extra, a dinghy and outboard even an EPIRB emergency beacon as well as the Two VHF radios. She is a stiff boat, and given a decent wind can see off a good few cruiser/racers as she has proved on many occasions. Most cruising yachtsmen profess to ignore boatspeed, but remember that an extra half a knot gets you to your destination a few hours earlier!   Handling under power is as good as all the modern yachts with their big spade rudders and powerful engines. She is almost as easy to handle backwards as forwards, which makes her a delight in crowded Summer anchorages and marinas.
