Wenonah Prism solo canoe made of tuf-weave
For sale, my Wenonah Prism canoe in tuf-weave. It's a solo canoe designed to track straight and move efficiently through the water. It's ideal for the Norfolk Broads, lakes and estuaries where you want to eat up the miles. It's fairly long for a solo boat and it's light (around 22 kg; source: the Wenonah website). It could fit camping gear for a solo paddler for a long trip. Prisms are popular in the US and score 4.3/5 from 25 user reviews on a popular US paddling website. I paddle it sit-and-switch when I want to go fast or J-stroke heeled over to one side when I'm with other paddlers or just taking things more slowly. It's very stable and comfortably the fastest canoe I've ever paddled. Here is the specification from the Wenonah website: Overall Length: cm) Gunwale Width: cm) Maximum Width: cm) Waterline Width: cm) Stern Depth: cm) Center Depth: cm) Bow Depth: cm) Rocker: 0" (0cm) I bought it second hand three years ago. Since then I've taken out the tractor seat to give a greater variety of paddling options. I've paddled it with a 24 cm black Aiguille Stingray kneeling saddle, which is in very good condition and which I will include in the sale (rrp £80). I can't find one of these boats advertised for new in the UK, but in the US they sell for $). I'm asking for £700. If you don't want the saddle, I'll take £30 off the price. In the photos and description that follows, I've tried to show and mention the main scratches and imperfections it's collected over the years. But in general it is in decent condition, and will last for decades more with minimal maintenance. This is a chance to get a high quality boat for much less than half the price it would be new. It has a small lump out of the outer layer at one end and is scratched in various places. None of the scratches are close to being all the way through the tuf-weave, which seems like a really tough, light material. The boat has a movable footrest, designed for use with the tractor seat. I've left it in, because it's useful for carrying the boat with, but I hadn't ever moved it to use it as a footrest closer to the bow. One of the sides has rusted and won't now move. It could be repaired, but if you're not planning to put a sliding seat in, it probably won't be of much use to you other than for lifting it. The part of the interior where the tractor seat was attached is a different colour, but is smooth and robust. The gunwales are both scratched, and there is a small dent in one (not shown in photos - sorry. It's about 2 cm wide and doesn't affect paddling). The end was repaired for some small cracks by a previous owner. I could bring it out for a test paddle for anyone considering buying it. Ad ID: Delivery Service Consumer Credit
