I am sadly selling my beloved Yamaha 275 sax in order to fund an upgrade. I purchased this saxophone second hand in , but it really was in top condition. This is an ideal instrument for anyone wishing to take up the saxophone and to begin learning. It is easy to play, with a smooth tone, and the tuning is even. The sound quality in the lower register is very clear, and low B’s and Bb’s are strong and powerful. There is a tiny dent in the bell, however this makes no difference to the sound quality. This instrument is by no means just for beginners, indeed it has got me all the way though my grade 8 and beyond, and is incredibly versatile, whether you are playing some solo Bach, or in a jazz big band. I'm selling my Alto because I mostly play tenor Sax these days. I've owned this instrument from new and have had it serviced on average once a year, to ensure all the pads have a tight seal, which is what you need to generate good tone, especially on the low notes. It has some scratches/ tarnishing but it still looks great. I can sell it either with the original Yamaha mouth piece or throw the Vandoren mouth piece for an extra £60.
