Leeds Area Riding for the Disabled are looking for volunteers to help with our weekend sessions. We have lessons on Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. Do I need to know anything about horses? No. RDA provides training for all its volunteers depending on the role you undertake. Do I need previous experience? Not necessarily. RDA has many different types of roles, most of which don’t require any experience. Of course, if you do have skills you’d like to share with us – we’d love to hear from you! How old do I have to be to Volunteer? Volunteers have to be 12 or over. There is no upper age limit. RDA is an approved activity provider of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and volunteering can help towards the award at all levels. I am 42 year old woman and am a wheel chair user.My home and garden are fully adapted. I have some care needs (physical) which can be explained further at interview. It is very important that the right candidate be, organised, practice And good humoured. Be able to Drive,swim, help with house work and confident with communicating with health and social care professions on matters that need attending to and be able to attend appointments. Life is important to me and I would want a P.A to help organise social activities with me when I can do them and also keep in mind that you need to take the reign sometimes. I have a puppy so you will need to be happy around animals. The job would be permant 20 hrs per week with holiday pay included.
