Chihuahua For Adoption

Presley is a 5 year old tri colored long haired chihuahua. He is very tiny and was rescued originally from an abusive home. Because of this he can be timid of strangers especially men and will bark if approached too quickly so needs calm introductions. Due to previous abuse and mishandling from children Presley cannot be homed with resident children under 12. I may consider homes with visiting children as long as I am satisfied suitable measures will be taken to keep everyone safe. He can or cannot live with other (calm) dogs. He's quite indifferent to them but previously lived with an elderly cairn terrier with no issues. Since coming into foster he's been a bit grumbly with dogs here but nothing major. He can get a bit possessive of his food and "stuff." This hasn't manifested in anything aggressive. Just noise and silliness. He's also been fine around our cats apart from when they come near his stuff when again we are met with noise and silliness. His new owners will need to be aware that this is a form of resource guarding and be able to deal with this effectively. He's absolutely adorable though and loves fuss and to be held in your arms. He's just had such an awful start in life so his negative behavior comes from fear. Presley needs someone who is around for most of the day or can take him with them to places. He gets quite anxious when left on his own. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and will be subject to a home check and adoption fee. I'm wanting to rehome/buy a female chihuahua or chihuahua cross. Any age and as I'm not wanting to breed from her then a spayed dog is fine. I work but as it's at a vets then I'm able to take her with me and I live in a semi rural location with lots of fields and woods etc so shed get lots of good quality walks. I haven't any small children as mine are grown up now but I do have an older neutered yorkie who is brilliant with other dogs. I lost my female dog to old age last year and I'm ready to rehome another one now. I put 300 in the price bit but that's just a guideline.
