Vox VBM-1 Brian May Guitar Amplifier In excellent condition. __________________________________________ The Vox Brian May Special Recording Amp is based on May's legendary "Deacy" recording amp that was named for Queen bassist John Deacon. May cobbled it together from a car radio's amp circuit mounted in a '60s bookshelf speaker cabinet. May collaborated with the Vox design team to create the Special as an amp that would capture the fabulous sonics of the original homegrown unit. It's a 10W combo with a 6-1/2" speaker that replicates every nuance of the original. The Special is equipped with controls for gain, tone, and volume with a high/low gain switch. A Booster section permits driving another amp in the same way May overdrives his AC30s in concert using his famed Treble Booster device. The Special also is equipped with an emulated recording/headphone jack plus external speaker jack. Vox incorporates 2 battery simulation circuits, one each for the Booster and Amp sections that duplicate the novel sound produced by the original Deacy's battery power source. The result is an utterly unique-sounding combo for recording, practicing, or driving another amp. Offered for sale is a very beautiful Vox AD50VT guitar amplifier Vox is a classic amp maker and re-invented themselves with this amplifier It is a hybrid amplifier utilising both valve and solid state technology That incorporates an onboard effects unit In brief there is one input and two programmable channels Plus a combination of pre-programmed effects That cannot only add (or subtract) to instrument Yet alter the characteristics of the amplifier itself Creating a system of effects pedal and eleven different amplifiers In one unit The 12” Celestion speaker offering a powerful 50w of perfect sound There is also a very clever power level adjustment that can limit the output of the amplifier. Particularly useful for those who home record or rehearse in confined space. A valve operates best at full impedance so would require all dials set to max yet the sound level can be painful. The power level adjustment limits the power output of the amplifier to between 0 and 50w meaning you may drive the valves at full load plus all high gain effects yet only produce 5w of sound.
