Vox AC30 Top Boost Hand wired with Silver Celestion Alnico Speakers

Vintage Dallas era Vox AC30 Top Boost Hand wired with Silver Celestion Alnico Speakers. Essentially a JMI era spec with a solid state rectifier. Only around 150 were made to this specification then the supply of the Silver Alnico drivers ran out. Recently serviced with new filter caps and matched JJ power valves fitted. Two pots were also replaced and I had the 3 way toggle for the vibe trem replaced with a pot to give more control over speed. Excellent condition and sounds glorious. Refurbished Vintage 70's Vox Sound Ltd. (Dallas) AC30 Top Boost Vib Trem Guitar Amp.

A refurbished late 's Vox Sound AC30, interior shots showing the green phenolic PCB's used only for a couple of years from . Its highly likely that the cabinet is a little later, seeming to be one of the so called 'Limited Edition' Fawn cabs that Vox produced seemingly for much of the early '80's, with three brass vents, mottled cream tolex and three leather handles. When this came in the upper rear panel was a flimsy bit of fibreboard, so this has been replaced with a pine panel, recovered in matching tolex. Interior rear panel bearers have also been replced. The amp itself has been serviced with new smoothing caps, new power valves and bases and the pots and jacks cleaned, the amp has also been P.A.T. Tested. Everything works as it should, and having owned a number of these over the years, once warmed up properly, this is one of the quietest. Speakers aren't a match: one looks like a period McKenzie, the other possibly a Celestion, but I can't be sure. I'm pretty sure that they're both 'period-ish' as they both have shiny aluminium dust caps, which were prevalent during the 70's and 80's. Everything works as it should, including the Vib Trem-circtuit, via the original hard wired footswitch, and it's loud and chimey. Cosmetically, there's some knicks in the tolex around the lower edge, a pull in the grille cloth and wear to the leather handles, but nothing indicating abuse, just reasonable wear and tear for an amp pushing forty years old. You'll need an 8 or 16ohm cab to use with it and it's great for home, recording and for live performances (many a sound man has told me to turn it down) Was fully serviced in January and I replaced all the tubes in September . As per title I have for sale a vintage rare very early blonde hair Snow White porcelain figurine. We believe that Walt Disney had intended for Snow White to be a blonde. Walt Disney decided to make her a brunette before the original movie of Snow White came out She measures approx 5.5cm tall by 4cm wide by 3.5 cm deep. This Vox AC30 is illustrated on page 81 of 'The Vox Story' with the original 'blank' in place of the reverb knob shown in that picture. The two alnico t speakers are shown in the photos along with original transformers and an original footswitch. At some point I thought of recovering it with a non-Vox tolex to make it a one-off that no one else had whilst at the same time putting plastic Vox handles back on in place of the leather handles. The buyer will need to come to my house, pour over the amp internally and externally and play it to his/her satisfaction before purchasing. Read more
