Vox ac30 amplifier - Vintage -

This is a vox ac30 top boost, dated . Tremendous sounding amp with G12M Celestion speakers and recent full service. I prefer the G12M speakers to the Alnico blue’s, but I’m also selling a single Alnico blue speaker, if you would like mix the speakers in the amp. Since I bought it, and it’s service, it has never been gigged. Just some studio use. The only thing modified on this amp is - I’ve changed the reverb pot into a master volume pot so the amp can distort without the face melting volume. I find that a much more desirable option than the reverb on this amp which isn’t very desirable in an ac30, but can easily be changed back to it’s original state. The only flaws are, the tremolo channel doesn’t sound too great, and a bit of ware and tare that is to be expected from an amp this age. Vintage Vox AC30 tube amp from the early s. No reverb, as this was an optional extra, but does have vib/trem. Original speakers. 40 years old, so condition is as you would expect. I have had this Vox AC30 cc2 from new, it has been gigged, and does have some minor scuffs on the bottom, as you can see on the photos, includes the dual footswitch, cover and owners manual. Mint condition Vox AC30 Custom Classic for sale. Only ever played in home environment, never gigged. Recently serviced with all valves replaced. Selling as downsizing to something more manageable to play at home. I have owned for 6 years but it has spent most of that time taking up room in the spare bedroom, hence the condition being excellent. I've played in bands since the 60s and the time has now come to part with all the gear I've accrued over that period. This Vox AC30 is illustrated on page 81 of 'The Vox Story' with the original 'blank' in place of the reverb knob shown in that picture. The two alnico t speakers are shown in the photos along with original transformers and an original footswitch. At some point I thought of recovering it with a non-Vox tolex to make it a one-off that no one else had whilst at the same time putting plastic Vox handles back on in place of the leather handles. The buyer will need to come to my house, pour over the amp internally and externally and play it to his/her satisfaction before purchasing. Read More
