Gentleman's Wardrobe by Supersuite Ltd...
Gentleman's Wardrobe by Supersuite Ltd, Gentleman's Walnut Wardrobe by Supersuite LTD.This wardrobe was found hidden away after a recent clear out of a property we moved in to some months ago. The property itself was part of a self-build scheme in the 60's so I'm assuming this piece has to be around years old!? (unfortunately I cannot confirm this) I've struggled to find anything with regards to the manufacturer "Supersuits LTD" but the hallmarks on the wardrobe suggest that this was an established company at some time or another. About the Wardrobe. The wardrobe appears to be in full working order in that all the doors, handles, keys and locks work fine. It has built in rails and hangers (see pictures) and a secret center compartment which appears as if it could be used to hold ties, cuffs etc. The right hand side of the wardrobe offers full length storage with rails and hangers perhaps used for coats and jackets!?. The center piece rotates as previously advised quite cleverly and its rotated again to hide these compartments away in the body of the wardrobe - secret compartment almost. I imagine this could have been used for ties and cuffs!?. On the left hand side you have a slightly shorter space but with an overhead compartment and I imagine this would have been used for shirts perhaps with overhead storage for shoes!?. The finish appears to be a burr walnut but again I am unable to confirm the exact type and treatment of the material used. All fixtures and fittings appear to be original. The entire piece locks together via lock and key. The key itself braded with Supersuit LTD. As advised the wardrobe appears to be fully functional. There are scuffs and some scratches as you would expect but I honestly dont think this comprimises the piece at all. With minor restoration this piece would be immaculate. Its a vintage piece and I think deserves a good home. I think this could appeal to someone with an eye for vintage and a taste for quality.
