Vintage wall rug carpet picture landscape 6' including wood frame, collect from Dumfries.

An unusual vintage pictorial rug framed for wall display. Measures an impressive 72" (6 feet long) and 29" high including the frame. I'm uncertain of the material but it feels to me like silk. The rural scene depicted includes houses, trees and a windmill in the background, in mainly autumnal colours. The style of the frame looks mid-20th century, though the rug could be older: it has some uneven wear and fading which suggests it may have been previously used to cover a furniture surface or even as a floor rug. As far as I can see it has no holes or other significant damage, but enough wear to enhance its authentic vintage character. £40 ovno. Ad ID:

Do you remember these ? Back in the 70's these were everywhere along with the 'Love is...' Characters! Folk had them hanging in living rooms, bedrooms kitchens and bathrooms ! Personally I think nowadays they would look fantastic hanging in a traditional quaint tea shop. I have tried to show in photos how the 3D effect was achieved back in the day. These were obviously hand made and are now a very collectable item. All 6 tiles are in new condition and individually boxed, in plain cardboard boxes that are slightly battered as they have been in storage for years, probably since the 70's !
