UNISEX MOTOBECANE TANDEM BIKE 10 GEARS, The tandem is an unusual design has a man's frame at the front and ladies at the rear, with drop handle bars at the front for the pilot and straight handlebars on the rear for the stoker. 27 inch wheels with schwalbe puncture protection road cruiser tyres which have plenty of tread, 5 speed derailleur gears with double chain wheel changer to 10 gears. The bike is fitted with MAF centre pull cantilever brakes front and rear and also has an additional Atom drum brake on the rear wheel for extra braking power. I’m not sure if the 10 speed Derailleur gears have the original friction shifters on the downtube. Dawes discovery tandem xt gears extensively upgraded.

21" front and 16" rear centre to top. 27 gears. We used it for the first year then last year were ready for an upgrade. The gears were dreadful, saddles uncomfortable and it wasn't much fun to ride. After some consideration we decided to uprate parts rather than the bike. So this is what we did... New Selle italia his n her saddles New Carbon fibre riser bars front and rear..greatly reduce road buzz Shimano xt 9 speed gears front, rear and shifters New 9 speed cassette All 4 chain rings replaced with stronglight alloy ones All new chains Full new cable set gears and brakes All new spd pedals New lighter seat post clamps New resin bottle cages x3 New scwalbe city jet road tyres All clamp bolts for handlebar stems and bottle cages etc replaced with stainless steel. It is now a joy to ride. Everything was removed, rebuilt and regreased. So no shocks with ceased bottom brackets or seatposts etc. It is now significantly lighter, smoother and faster than it ever was and you would have to spend twice the asking price to get someting comparable new. It comes with a spare set of schwalbe knobbly tyres should you want to use it off road. A rack and a spare inner tube. It also gas some plastic flat pedals you may wish to use to get started with. However spd's are So much better. I will leave on the garmin mount. It has proper 40 spoke super strong tandem wheels with strong stainless steel plain gauge spokes. These 26" tandem wheels are so much stronger than 700c tandems. All in all a great tandem ready to go which requires nothing in way of parts or work. It is a used tandem and has some light scratches but absolutely no dents or gouges. As can be seen from the pics its very presentable. Any trial or inspection is very welcome.
