Vintage Cedar Wood Shoe Shine Box with Foot Rest Top! Vintage Cedar Wood Shoe Shine Box with Foot Rest Top! This vintage pine wood shoe shine box is a reminder of the days gone past when wore footwear that needed to be polished and shined periodically if one was to look his best. In those days "Shoe Shine Boys" roamed bus and train stations as well as the street looking for a gent that needed a shine on the go. The box, as this one does, typically had a foot rest on the top for the gent to place his shoes, one shoe at a time while the shoe shine boy buffed up his shoes with tools and materials store inside the box. This box shows that it has been well used, earning it's owner a bit now and then. It is made of pine and has a slanted footrest top. The size is about " long by 8-1/8"" wide by 7 5/8 " high, not including the footrest top. I would guess the origin of this shoe shine box is from the 50's or 60's. Please see all of the pictures for the very best description of it's condition. A wonderful piece of nostalgia from the "Good-Old-Days!"

Vintage antique theatre make up/shoe shine polish tool box holder storage crate gift for dad

This amazing find is in its original untouched state as you can see(I havent attempted to clean it). It is a fabulous box of goodies which would have been a theatre make up artists tool box and still has many tins and pots of foundation etc inside,this could be used for a similar purpose or it would make a great shoe shine box,kitted out with brushes and polish as a thoughtful and practical gift for the man in your life. It is made of solid wood which has a lovely aged patina to it and has its original webbing carrying strap/handle on the lid,the top lifts up and the front drops down for easy access to the two levels. They are held closed with two sweet little original brass hooks. With a bit of tlc this will polish up nicely. It measures 37 cms wide x 17 cms deep x 22.5 cms high. Ad ID:
