Vintage Wharton Stockport metal advertising sign. Yellow writing to the sign is embossed (so the writing is not flat and protrudes a little above the surface). Sign is in good condition but does show signs of age which adds to the charm. There are some holes which have been drilled into the sign as shown in the photos. These do not detract from the overall look. Originally from "The Wharton Crane & Hoist Co" which is an old company founded in who were based in Reddish, Stockport. Wilkinson Sword Commemorative Queen Mother Sword of Honour A limited edition commemorative sword made by Wilkinson Sword to honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's 80th year. This court sword has a 32"" hand forged steel blade, acid etched with the wording; THE ROYAL SWORD OF HONOUR For Her Majesty QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER and flanked on either side by roses. The Wilkinson trade mark is etched next to the hilt. The decorative guard has a crown at the centre leading to a leather bound grip and a crown shaped pommel.
