Men's vintage Catena quartz watch
Vintage quartz Catena men's (now Unisex) dress watch from 's Powered by extremely rare Jeager LeCoultre prototype quartz Calibre 603 movement. In working order & keeping great time, possibly unique. This movement was the thinnest in the world in , only superceded a few years later, again by a JLC module. Being both early quartz technology & made in limited numbers, JLC watches with the 603 in were more expensive than their equivalent mechanical versions. Catena as a brand, I've only seen a handful of gents dress watchescome to market, & they had mechanical movements in them. The Co is a little on the lines of Cartier, more known for ladies jewel set watches in cases with a horseshoe theme to them, hence their sponsorship of gymkhana, eventing etc. I know the watches were given to the winners, & gather they were given to younger winners where cash prizes were prohibited. It's very thin, (hence the use of JLC603 movement) measuring only 5.4mm total across case-back to raised bezel, 25mm wide not including the blue cabachon crown, & 25mm tall bezel to bezel. Offered on thin burgundy (wine lol !) leather strap & in budget gift box. Read More
