Made from mainly cotton s design left-over unused dress fabrics with a true retro feel, Mainly shades of pink colour scheme, with pink borders. Fully lined with soft backing. Freshly washed, but I have not been able to remove a mark which does not show on the top surface. Needs ironing before putting on the bed. Cosy to cuddle up to on a double bed. This quilt was designed and made by my very talented nan for my son. She has been making these for around 50 years and is amazing at this! She only uses 100% cotton and this is fully machine washable. The little coloured triangles around the edge are only sewed on one side - so are tabs. This does have a couple light stains (shown in a picture) and one of the bees hands is loose- although still attached so could be easily fixed (also shown in a picture) Only selling as my son is now in a single bed and it's wasted being folded in my airing cupboard! This bedspread/quilt/throw was handmade from squares, triangles and strips of polycotton in a mix of floral, plain and pattern with shades of pink, beige and chocolate with some white background. The pattern is a variation on traditional designs but I tried to ensure that the effect was tonally harmonius. I take great pride in my needlework, each item is totally unique and this has been discreetly initialed and dated in machine embroidery (GGS ) near one corner. It is sold as used but was only used occasionally in a guest bedroom and is not worn or faded.

Patchwork vintage single bedspreads handmade pair in Llanon

This pair of bedspreads/quilts/throws were handmade from squares of polycotton in a mix of floral, plain and pattern with shades of apricot, sage green and beige on white background predominating. There is a similar symmetrical pattern of squares in each quilt but some variation in the materials employed, as you would expect in patchwork. I take great pride in my needlework and there are some nice details such as the ribbon embellishment on some squares and joins satin-stitched with Madeira thread. I have hand embroidered my initials and the date (GGS 89) on one corner. Although I have listed as used, they were only used occasionally in a guest bedroom and are not worn or faded. The only sign of use is a small stain with some bleaching around it on the reverse side near one corner which is shown in the last picture.
