Glass in good condition with no scratches or cracks etc. Good overall condition with some marks and scratches conducive with normal usage for furniture of this age. This old oak writing bureau with bookcase has 2 decorative glass doors and 3 shelves. There are 8 compartments in the bureau section and 2 pull out supports for the desktop. The bureau is an attractive piece of furniture, quite useable as it, but to get it back to its former glory it will require just a little light restoration. The glass bookcase has a functional lock with keys but at some time in its life the lock for the desktop has been removed – this does not affect it closing nor its use. Bureau/Bookcase - 's solid dark oak, This is a dark oak bureau/bookcase that was inherited by Us a year ago - and was lovingly restored in . It is over 50 years old - we think in the 's. It has beuriful carved detail at the top of the bookcase & on the bureau door.Both desk/doir and bookcase doors are lockable & have original keys. Lovely panelled glass in the doors.Three shelves - remove able and adjustable.Bureau has embossed leather writingspace. And a number of cubbies for letters etc. it easily fits a laptop computer inside to use and store.The bureau has three drawers of various sizes.Books in the photo are not included! The bureau and bookcase are in lovely condition- except it has suffered some ' chew' damage being stored in a room with a puppy. There are some scratches on the right side panel. Chew damage to three of the six drawer handles. Chew damage to the bottom right corner of the carcass. (More pictures of the damage are available if you are interested? I believe anyone with a bit of restoration knowledge could easily return the damaged bits back to their original beauty.May be able to help delivery locally for a small additional fee.
