Gorgeous old original steamer trunk made by Liposta in Dresden Germany between and .It has been sympathetically restored and cleaned and refinished with the same mixture of natural oils that it would have had then so the fabric can breathe.It still has its original cream co. The brass locks still work and the top of the trunk bears the original owners initials of H.S.These old beauties were extremely robustly made to withstand the rigours of travel back then by steamer boats and steam trains which is why they have kept their good looks up until now.These make great storage at the foot of the bed or a brilliant quirky coffee table. A superb British made antique steamer trunk. Outstanding quality black painted metal with solid wood braces all round. A stunning original coppered interior. This is in completely original condition so has some dents and marks that all add to its character, full of life and history. Writing reads: H.F Tunbridge, c/o Miss D.Mason,501 New South Head RD,Double bay, Sydney,Australia. This could be used for storage (all catches and handles work),perhaps a blanket box at the foot of a bed. At the moment I have it stood on end and am using it as a lamp stand, endless possibilities.
