This is a beautiful vintage linen-fold bureau. A quality piece of furniture made in Britain by Old Charm Furniture. Ideal as a laptop desk or a dressing table. This bureau has been lovingly up-cycled: Chalk painted in Annie Sloan 'Graphite' and 'Paris Grey', subtly distressed, then finished with 2 coats of satin varnish for extra protection and durability. vintage shabby chic linen press kitchen larder unit housekeepers cupboard wardrobe armoire, This was made by famous cabinet maker Frederick Tibbenham of Ipswich,Suffolk,England,(see its dear little vintage label)an English cabinet maker who started producing furniture in . He was renowned for producing high quality pieces and held a Royal Warrant for furniture production. His factory continued to make pieces until the mid 50's when it then closed.Fantastic large piece of quality solid wood vintage furniture which started life as a wardrobe back in the early part of last century but has since been shelved out in solid pine slats to use as a storage cupboard. (all other items shown in photos are suggestions only and are not included!)I have owned it for about 20 years and bought it when my daughters were little as a hide it all away cupboard in their bedroom but they are grown up now and no longer need it.(It can still be reverted back to a wardrobe again if required as the hanging rail fittings are still in place and the slats are screwed in not nailed for easy removal.) As can be seen from the photos it can hold a huge amount of 'stuff',for kids rooms it amply holds all their toys,books,games and clothing with plenty of room for those big plastic crates with lids so its all tidy yet accessible,it would also make a great linen press for a massive amount of bedding,spare quilts,pillows etc,and equally would work well as a capacious kitchen cupboard/larder unit with bags of room for food,pots, pans,cookery books even a bread bin and toaster. If you are lucky enough to have space this would be great as a housekeepers cupboard as you could store all your laundry and cleaning products and even have room for your ironing to keep it all out of sight! The shelves are nice and strong and can easily also accommodate a microwave oven(the flex could be taken out through the back or side). It is painted in a nice chalky off white which will tone with any decor and just has a little bit of natural distressing accumulated over the years(this could be further rubbed back if distressing is your thing to really accentuate the lovely shaped mouldings and shaped feet,or conversely repainted in a lovely heritage paint colour such as Farrow & Ball or Annie Sloan to give it a pristine finish.The interior (apart from the slats) is all original and features brass fittings for the clothes rails to slot into and brass stays on the bottom of the doors. This is a large piece of furniture but is designed to come apart for easy transportation(so it could be taken upstairs in period houses in times past),the corniced top lifts off and the main part divides in two down the middle(the slats would need unscrewing one side first)we could help with loading or deliver it ourselves for our fuel cost.Measurements are cms) High, cms) wide,cms)deep £, Peacehaven, .

Vintage shabby chic French Moroccan orange red stripe linen

I bought this lovely stripy throw/bedspread/tablecloth from Ardingly Antiques fair a few months ago to use as a prop at my daughters wedding this month,she had a Moroccan/Arabian theme and the Marquee was dressed in drapes,cushions,stools and seating in Autumn colours and accessorised with original vintage brass coffee pots and vases to great affect and it looked just like a luxurious desert princes hideaway! This cloth is vintage, really rather special and is originally from France but takes on an Arabian look in the right setting or it would make a great deckchair look throw on a bed or sofa or even in the garden. It will fit a single bed as a bedspread or a double as a folded throw on the end and will fit a 6ft x 3ft dining table as a tablecloth perfect for winter celebrations. It is a great quality linen fabric woven not printed in stripes of burnt orange,brick red,pale tangerine and duck egg and measures 210 cms x 149 cms. It is in good clean condition and is freshly laundered and pressed ready for its new home. Shown in the other photo is the tall gold bamboo vase that we used which is al;so for sale.

Vintage French "style" painted shabby chic double wardrobe with internal chest of drawers

This wardrobe has been hand painted with a white base coat and then hand painted with Autentico Vintage chalk paint in Soft Grey before being lightly distressed. I have hand finished the wardrobe with a white chalk wax to add durability which has a lovely matt finish. This effect gives an authentic rustic french shabby chic look. This is a very pretty Vintage double wardrobe. The wardrobe is made from mahogany. This wardrobe has two solid doors both with shield shaped mouldings, both doors open to reveal a interior consisting of a side to side hanging rail with six brass sliding hooks on the rail which providing full height hanging and half height hanging. Inside the wardrobe is its originally inset chest of drawers with three graduating full depth drawers all with matching flip handles. On the side of the left hand door is a bevelled edged mirror which is shaped the same as the exterior mouldings. The wardrobe sits on lovely shaped cabriole legs. Overall a sweet wardrobe offering loads of storage and hanging. This would make a super centre piece to any bedroom be it traditional or contemporary. This wardrobe is in one piece.
