Rare Imperial Vintage Manual Typewriter, Working

Rare Imperial "The Good Companion" vintage manual portable typewriter. I have cleaned the typing mechanism and it is now in fully working order. The keys type smoothly, the carriage advances when it should. It has the original metal spools (which are almost unobtainable to date) that have been fitted with a new black-red ribbon. I have also cleaned the typefont so there is almost no dirt/dust. Further, I lightly used special typewriter oil in the typing mechanism to make it run smoother and prevent corrosion. The carriage return lever, the line spacer, the paper release, margin setters, caps lock, ribbon switch and backspace key all work as they should. The bell rings when approaching the end of the line. This fascinating typewriter will come with authentic black case with original leather handle. It will also include a cleaning cloth and a brush. The typewriter has very useful handles on both sides and that improves its portability. The overall condition is excellent. There is minor discolouration on the body of the typewriter. I have cleaned the typing mechanism however, a couple of keys can stick at times, in that case you would need to press them a couple of times until they work as intended. The platen roller shows signs of age so I would strongly recommend using two sheets of paper to slow down the natural process of rubber deterioration. The retro typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations. The only real NSA-proof of creating, storing and exchanging information! If you are interested in purchasing the typewriter, you are more than welcome to come and try it out. I can give a quick guide on how to use one so don’t be afraid if you’re new to such technology. It is possible to rent it out for one-off occasions with a set deposit and a smaller fee. I am open to reasonable offers. I can arrange tracked postage to other locations for an additional fee, depending on the exact weight.
