Great condition for it's age. Some scratches and dings, minor fretwear. The chrome parts, particularly the trem, have a lot of wear on the finish. Fender Stratocaster 50th Anniversary (sticker on back of head stock). Made in Japan . Serial number U. Exceptionally good condition for over 20 year old guitar. Slight fret wear under G string on second fret, but nothing else to mention. Very slight tarnishing to tuner cases and the usual (for a Strat of this age) minor crack in the lacquer where the neck joins the body – this is not structural. Other than that the guitar is in great shape and has no dings or scratches. Soft V maple neck (graduates to a C by the time you reach the octave) which is extremely comfortable to play, with a good action and no buzzing or choking on bends. Original Alnico pickups but I have had the guitar professionally modded to provide seven way switching. The first tone control works only on the bridge pickup and is push/push, the other works on the middle and neck pickups. When down you have the usual five options but when up you have the added option of: 1) Switch to the back = bridge and neck pickup, which gives an almost Telecaster type tone, and 2) Switch in the middle position = all three pickups together, which gives a great tone for rhythm playing. The other positions work the same as when the knob is depressed. No case, so collection preferred; although I do have a strong cardboard box for the guitar, so could pack for shipment if necessary. Ibanez Roadstar Strat s - genuine MIJ lawsuit guitar.

Ibanez RS240 Roadstar s made in Japan, in fantastic ungigged condition. This is one of the guitars that Ibanez built its reputation on, one of the notorious lawsuit guitars of the s. For those of you that don't know, most USA manufacturers relaxed their quality control and upped their production in the s resulting in a glut of poor quality instruments. A small number of Japanese manufacturers, notably Ibanez and Tokai, started knocking out clone guitars that were actually better than the originals. This is one of them. It's a pretty straightforward Strat copy, two single coils and a himbucker on the bridge. The bridge is a floating spring trem style, and doesn't have the arm, so you'll need to get one or tighten up the springs to stop it moving around. It's reliable and holds its tune when it's strung and set up properly. Closed Fender style tuners, v shaped strapholders, I'll chuck in a set of strings, very quiet when it's plugged in. It's better made and just sits nicer in the hand than current Ibanez, Pacifica, or Squier strats, mostly because it's been in light use for thirty years; if it was matchwood it would have disintegrated by now. It would suit a beginner fine if you hardtailed the trem, or an upgrade for someone who wanted a backup, or someone who fancies a protect changing the bridge and playing with setups. Beautiful 's Fender Japanese Stratocaster, built in the Fuji-Gen factory between and . Features: - Serial no: A - Maple neck - Gotoh tuners - Tremolo system (arm included) Condition: - This guitar is over 30 years old and naturally has signs of use, wear and ageing/discolouration. There are some knocks, bumps and general buckle rash etc. - Natural age-related discolouration to the white plastic pickup covers and control knobs - Some age-related patination to the metal pieces (strap buttons, jack plate, bridge etc) - Frets all seem to be in good condition. - Pickup selector switch was upgraded to an official Fender USA switch by the previous owner. Pickups and pots are all original. - I believe the guitar would have originally been fitted with a Schaller tremolo and locking nut, but the tremolo has been replaced by what seems to be a Fender USA standard tremolo and saddles ("Fender" stamped) and the locking nut has been removed at some point. The back side of the guitar has the name of a previous owner "Martin Waller" etched into it, which in my opinion adds to the guitar's character and history. Overall, this will make a beautiful guitar for someone. These 's Japanese Fenders are becoming more and more collectable, with values rising year-on-year. The guitar doesn't come with a case.
