I am selling this amazing vintage chimney cowl which is full of character. This Charming old piece could be a great decorative item for a garden or used in a project to create new products for interiors such as light shades etc. It is still in working order and can be push fitted onto an existing chimney pot and tightened using bolts. It is in good vintage condition, having a few knocks, but no cracks are seen. The Cowl revolves with the direction of the wind, identical to a weather vane and is designed to increase draught on chimneys. The cowl turns so it always has its back pointing into the wind. This allows the wind to suck the fumes and smoke out of the chimney, meaning there is never a downdraft. It also prevents rain going into the flue and because it is always revolving with the wind direction it acts as a bird scare.
