Vintage 'sDouble Bed With Radio Cassette Barometer
Vintage original early 's German made Large King Size double bed frame including two mattresses. Headboard features clock radio, cassette player, stereo speakers, barometer, thermometer and lights. There is a mini table in the centre which can be pulled down between the two pillows. The two bases have wooden slats which raise up independently on springs via lever, providing loads of storage space underneath. Headboard has lights on either side plus a drawer on each side for storage of small items. Mattresses are originals and in good condition and burgundy cover matches the headboard. Frame has been recovered in faux leather. Bed head part can be raised to a sit up position for watching TV in bed, reading,etc. Foot end can also be raised if desired for people who prefer to sleep with their feet up! Colour - bed frame upholstered in beige faux leather. Headboard in burgundy velour type material plus faux leather. Lights, handles and other fitments are in a brass colour. CONDITION: One speaker cover has a small crack to the plastic. Some of the brown leatherette on the headboard below one of the lights is damaged due to a two large a bulb having been fitted at some stage in its life. Brass cover to the lights is spotted in places. A few small scuffs to the piping on the side but nothing to really spoil the look and consistent with the age of the item. Castors have been added to the bases to facilitate movement. ELECTRICS - I have not tested the cassette player, no idea if it works as I have not used cassette tapes for years. The clock radio does work fine FM/AM (analogue). Lights work. Takes two 20 watt screw in bulbs per side.
