vintage brimar radio valve

Vintage Brimar Radio Valve

Clearing clutter and this is a vintage Brimar radio valve, it says on the box 'BVA' and on the end of the box says 'OZ+PT' - I have no idea what it means I'm afraid as this was in a pile of inherited stuff which I'm going through. I've listed as used but no idea whether it was or not as it is still in its original box! It is approx. just over 2" long. On the valve itself it says Brimar BVA Made in USA OZ4. Maybe of use to someone:) Any questions please ask. Update: Someone has reliably informed me that this is a cold cathode rectifier valve,made in the USA for Brimar in the UK. And BVA stand for the British Valve Association:)

Bush DAC90 Bakelite Vintage valve radio, Long & Medium waveband.I have owned this radio since finding it amongs the contents of the first house my wife and I bought in . It has been played often and has had no work done to it other than a valet using Brasso as recommended by a collector/restorer I found online.Sadly the valet exposed a crack I had not noticed before but that does not affect the performance. I would say the sound is very good, quite rich. You just need to be patient & gentle with the wavelength selector when “surfing” for stationsI am neither an electrician nor radio engineer so that is just my opinion as a hoarder who is downsizing home and needs to offload some surplus toys.Having looked at other similar items on various selling/auction sites I feel this has been priced fairly, in the middle, as a proper working, very clean, but slightly scarred original example of a popular collectible item £, Shoreham-By-Sea,.
