Vintage Copper And Brass Ghalamzani Chafing Dish Pan Warmer
Vintage Copper Chafing Dish Warming Pan with Brass Turned Handle. Made by Nader Coppersmiths of Tehran, Iran This chafing dish is decorated with hand hammered and incised Ghalamzani work and serves as both a warmer and a server. It comes in four parts comprising:- A decorated three legged copper stand with a holder for a burner (Sterno). A double handled copper dish with tinned interior which fits in the stand - possibly like a bain Marie to hold water A second copper dish with tinned interior and a nicely turned brass handle. This sits inside the first dish but will also fit on the stand on its own. The lid is highly decorated with figures of mandarins and is tinned on the underneath. The parts are back-stamped with the impression Nader and the Nader logo. This is a figurehead in a circle. It represents a mandarin with tall hat and also includes two fish and characters. This dish was probably made during the 's but could be slightly earlier. It stands approx 9" tall including lid x 15" including handles. I have not cleaned the dish since it came into my possession so it shows years of patina and all the normal signs of age related wear.
