Vintage carved oak rural aneroid barometer c's Wonderful quality beautifully carved rural style barometer. The solid oak frame has been carved in a beautiful style incorporating corn cobs and other country styled decoration. The carved body is 1inch (5cm) thick solid oak. The item is 29 inches (74 cm) tall and 9 inch (23 cm) wide at its widest point, with white ceramic dial with stylised black lettering that is 7 inch (17cm) and comes in perfect condition with no chips or cracks to the face. The face is surrounded by a brass collar and is 6.5 inches (16 cm) in diameter. A quality bevelled glass covers the whole dial and has no chips or cracks. Covering all is a lovely brass outer cover, which is in superb condition. A pointer in blued metal and brass setting dial completes the workings of the barometer, this is easily set and read, giving you an idea of the weather to come over the next few hours. A thermometer is on the upper section of the oak body, this is 7.5 inches (19cm) in length and 2 inch (5 cm) wide. To the rear of the barometer is a circular recessed brass hanging plate, allowing easy hanging on a outside facing wall. Due to the delicate nature of the item we would like this to be a pick-up only sale. However if you can't collect we will post the item.
