Stunning Romanian kilim (2 sided) originated from Northern Moldavia (a region in Romania). 100 % hand woven wool and cotton thread are the natural fibres used to handmade this kilim. These gorgeous kilims were hand-woven and hand-dyed by two sisters (now grannies) in a small village in Northern Moldavia using the kilim technique. Apart from their decorative purpose (decorate the floor or walls), these were used as warm bed blankets. Long ago the kilims were traditionally made as gifts for family members and were often passed down through generations. Hand-woven rugs / kilims do more than decorate floors, walls or warm beds.
