A superb British made antique steamer trunk. Outstanding quality black painted metal with solid wood braces all round. A stunning original coppered interior. This is in completely original condition so has some dents and marks that all add to its character, full of life and history. Writing reads: H.F Tunbridge, c/o Miss D.Mason,501 New South Head RD,Double bay, Sydney,Australia. This could be used for storage (all catches and handles work),perhaps a blanket box at the foot of a bed. At the moment I have it stood on end and am using it as a lamp stand, endless possibilities. Unfortunately we are moving and no longer have space for this unique trunk. He has wooden braces, a lined interior and original locks. The locks at the front still close, no keys to secure them but they keep closed without. There's an inner tray that can be removed. Original stickers and leather handles. A huge antique metal steamer/shipping trunk. It measures " in length, 20" high and 19" width. Brass lock (no key) and clasps and remains of the original leather handles. Fully lined inside with wood which has been covered with paper (this looks original as it shows tanning and is flaking in places). Comes complete with its original removeable wooden shelf. For sale is this absolutely incredible 17th/18th century coffer. It's in amazing antique condition with the most beautiful genuine patina. I've cleaned the inside and given the outside a fresh coat of wax giving it a beautiful tactile finish. The condition is extremely good for its age. It has a very small amount of dormant worm holes at the back which are almost un noticeable. All in all its an amazing piece great condition and clean inside.
