I got this Linux Starter Kit when a previous Windows computer failed, and I didn't like the Windows version anyway. It comes with the installation CD which includes Corel Wordperfect for Linux. The book is only slightly dog-eared at the front, and from there on in it is virtually perfect. Known to be one of the best Linux books ever for beginners, and around the Internet there are still some around. I have a copy of the OS on my MAC using a VMWare virtual drive. I am not sure what updated operating systems or laptops would support it, but I would imagine that there will be quite a few. Worth doing some research first compatibility wise.
