I bought this family coat of arms in oak wood in the s at an antique dealer in Amsterdam. On the left is a lion with crown and on the right a prancing horse. On the middle medallion with crown more various lions are carved. Nor I, nor the antique dealer could find out the family name of this family coat of arms. The coat of arms is 27.5 cm wide, 17 cm high and 3.5 cm thick. This is a nice matching pair Of Victorian antique 'Chippendale style' Mahogany finish bedroom chairs. They need some tender loving care and restoration. Carved wooden backs, sprung upholstered seats. Short legs on castors. Mahogany staining to the wood. Been in my family since Grandad's time, but they no longer fit with our modern decor so must go to a new home. CONDITION: They need some care and attention/restoration work. One of the chair backs is cracked (see photos) and needs fixing, probably just a case of gluing back together and clamping though I am no expert. The fringing has been the victim of a cat's attention in the past and needs replacing. The seat material looks to be s, they may have been recovered back then.
