Victorian slate clock,with visible escapement.Huge ornate centrepiece., Large ornate Victorian slate clock,with visible open escapement.Circa .Strikes the relevant amount of times on a gong hourly & once for the half hour.The slate case has plenty of fancy adornments,to include two lady figures supporting colonnades, flanked either side by two fluted pillars, topped by scene depicting cherubs scuffling, There is also incised scroll work to front.. The movement is a quality French "Marti" manufacture, with an attractive pretty palleted open escapement, with easy to see numerals.On the rear of the twin train movement are impressed numbers & makers logo.This clock is a genuine antique,so please accept any usual age related nibbles, wear, or patination,as it is very unusual to find any antique without these characteristics & personally this can add to the feel of the item. Overall the clock is in very good allround order,& would grace any large hallway or room.Supplied with winding key. heavy slate antique mantel clock - needs minor TLC

beautiful antique slate clock with key. This clock is VERY heavy. The slate is in beautiful condition for its age. Very tiny minor nibbles along one or two edges, so small you can barely see them, just feel them. For some reason the glass door on front of the face won't close so this will need sorting. When i moved the clock it did tick for quite a while and it chimes perfectly every hour and half hour when you move the hands round. its a lovely quiet movement and very nice chime I think the movement may just need a clean and service. Victorian slate/marble French mantle clock with bell chimes

I have for sale an elegant Victorian black slate and red mottled marble mantle clock, having bell chime movement. The Clock strikes on a little bell once on each half hour and on the hour it chimes according to the time. On the French movement are markings GR inside an oval shape and impressed stamp marked with AD Mougin And five-pointed star. I have added pictures of the movement with and without the steel bell attached. Clock has been recently serviced and is keeping good time. The dial is clear and has decorative hands. There is opening front glazed bezel allowing access to winding holes. At the back there is also an opening door to gain access to pendulum and bell chime movement. Clock will be supplied with a winding key and will run for more than a week on a full wind. Approximate Dimensions - 29cms tall x 24 cms wide x 14 cms depth. For Collection only or you may arrange own courier at your own risk. Gorgeous Victorian slate clock case

This a gorgeous, modestly sized, slate and marble Victorian clock case, just waiting to be united with a suitable movement. It is approx 21cm wide, 13cm deep and 22 cm high. Diameter of apertures is approx 10cm. Small nick on edge of coloured marble, bottom left, but otherwise virtually nibble free. It would make a very pretty adornment to any mantlepiece. Collection only, from east Kent (minutes from eastern end of M2) as I would hate to see this damaged in transit.
