I have a beautiful cast iron fireplace for sale, on behalf of my friends who have emigrated, which is in EXCELLENT overall condition. Was removed from their Victorian house in Blackwater, Surrey in and is believed to be the original Victorian fireplace for the house. The hood metalwork has a bat & moth embossing in 2 separate panels with a mix of beautiful foliage and pattern motifs in the surrounding metalwork. The gold & green tiles have a Victorian leaf/fruit & foliage detail down the cheeks. There is a hairline crack on 1 tile but it remains intact and does not detract from its condition. On basis of it being an original Victorian fireplace I am looking for offers in excess of £850. I may be able to deliver, for a possible charge, depending on location and urgency of need. Can be viewed prior to purchase. We would love this to go back into a Victorian house especially for someone with an affection for all things 'batty'. I have a Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. Bad news - the marble fireplace is broken in parts but can be mended. I think all the pieces are there but I keep finding new bits of it every day. Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plate and will be as good as before. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I have included a picture of what the mantlepiece and fireplace would have looked like originally and could look like again with a bit of tlc. Pine fireplace surround with marble back-piece for inset living gas fired coal effect fire. The aperture is 18 inch (450mm) wide for a standard inset fire. The fireplace and mantle shelf is solid pine with carved effect. It is about 20 years old but in as new condition The marble back piece is complete and in good condition but unfortunately the marble hearth was damaged on removal because of the way it was originally installed. The living gas fired coal effect fire complete with coals and inset piece is also available for a total price of £75 including the fire surround.
