Victorian/Edwardian pine fire surround 126cm high by 143cm wide (mantle piece is 15cm deep). Cast iron insert 90cm high x 68.5cm wide. Fender measures 44cm wide by 16cm high. Large vintage victorian / edwardian fire surround with mirror, cast iron insert & tiles

Large antique fire surround. In very good condition for it's age, with delicate inlay in the wood. A beautiful thing! Has bevelled mirror, hand-painted tile panels & cast iron insert/hood which is clad in thin brass sheet (it's so old that some of the brass is worn through from polishing!). Also has some marble infill strips & the original fender (again, the brass skin is worn through in places). Originally it came from a house in Jesmond and I've never refitted it. Reclaimed and Restored Cast Iron Tiled Insert with Surround Description This cast Iron insert has been stripped back by hand and re-polished to a stunning graphite finish. It has Victorian tubeline Floral Tiles (no cracks or chips). Can be used with gas or solid fuel (suitable fireback required) or as a decorative feature in any room. The surround is a Wood effect beech colour. All our surrounds are reclaimed and as such may have some minor knocks and blemish appropriate to its age. All Surrounds are sympathetically restored and waxed prior to delivery. All surrounds can be sprayed White, Black or any available colour for an additional charge. Insert can be sold separately if surround is not required or is not to your taste. The Hearth in the photos is not included.
