Hohner One Row Melodeon/ Button Accordion in C

This is in OK condition considering how old it is - at least 60 years. A couple of very rusty notes, but this is ideal for a beginner in Cajun or Irish music in C or any other player wanting to explore different keys and styles. You have a C major chord and C bass on the push, and G major on the pull on the top two left hand buttons, and an F major chord and F bass on both push and pull on the bottom two left hand buttons. There is diagram on a melodeon website for the right hand side keyboard layout. It has a certain antique charm, and would need some work to get it to performing standard. Up for sale, I have a Hohner Amati VIII, 5 row C system accordion for sale. It has 4 treble voices (LMMM), treble (Musette Tuned), 49 notes, ranging from A (A, lower than a 41 note piano accordion) to Bb (higher than the high A on a 41 key piano accordion), so that it has a 5 octave range from the lowest A to the highest A. It has 2 sliding couplers, behind the treble keyboard, making available 4 combinations of reed configurations, these are, M (Clarinet), LM (Bassoon and Clarinet), MMM (Musette) and LMMM (Master). It has 5 sets of reeds in the bass, with 1 sliding coupler switching between upper reeds (high) and master, all reeds sounding. Bass and treble reeds have been re-valved, and tuned to concert pitch (A = 440Hz). Both the bass and treble have been re pallated. The accordion is made by Hohner, an excellent Italian manufacturer, Circa, early 's, so it is a quality instrument, using the finest of materials. Treble keyboard buttons and felts are original and have been levelled. I have replaced 3 of the diminished buttons in the bass section. It weighs 10kg, 22lbs. It has also been serviced with adjustments, replacements and cosmetic touches made where required. The compression is excellent. The accordion comes with a new ruck sack (Retail at about £100). Both the shoulder and bass straps are not original but are of good quality Italian make. The bellows straps are original. I have kept the price of all my accordions to the absolute minimum. Accordions, by nature, are very complex and have an extraordinary amount of moving parts (the bigger they are, the more work is involved) and therefore consume a vast amount of time in an overhaul to bring them up to a high standard of playability. Up for sale, I have a Buchen Bulach, Sell, 5 row ‘C’ system, chromatic accordion. It is a 3 voice, tremolo tuned, ladies/ youth accordion. It has 3 sets of treble reeds (LMM), with 42 notes, ranging from E flat (below middle C) to the C sharp, three octaves above middle C. It has 2 sliding couplers on the treble, which can make reed configurations consisting of, Clarinet (M). Master, (LMM), Bandoneon (LM) and Violin (MM). It has 5 sets of bass reeds, which has a slide, switching between 4 sets of reeds and 5 sets of reeds. Bass and treble valves have been replaced and all reeds have been tuned to concert pitch (A = 440Hz). I have also replaced the bellow seals, grill cloths and treble pallets. Both the bass reeds and treble reeds are pinned directly on to the reed blocks, sealed only by a strip of leather positioned along the edge of the reed plates at the rivet end of the reed plates. The accordion was made in Switzerland, by Sell? Circa ’s. The treble keyboard buttons are very small and compact, ideal for a ladies or youths. It has 111 basses. It weighs 7.9kg, 17.4lbs. It has also been serviced with adjustments, replacements and cosmetic touches made where required.
