GAREIS, KUHNL & CO VERY RARE COLLECTIBLE COFFEE SET
FROM THE STAMP WE BELIEVE THIS TO BE FROM AFTER THE WAR BUT BEFORE . WE HAVE BEEN TOLD IT WAS THE FIRST PRODUCTION (FROM STAMP) AFTER WW2 ENDED, AND THE STAMP ITSELF IS VERY UNUSUAL. We can see the light through the base of the coffee cup so think its bone china but cannot be certain. We have searched the internet and although seen similar patterns from other Bavarian Manufacturers have not been able to find this pattern manufactured by GKC. Additionally, we contacted two specialist Appraisers (who deal in antique tea sets and also replacement "parts" for antique tea sets) and they have advised that it is genuine and that they have not come across this pattern, from this manufacturer. The set consists of coffee pot, in gold with white centre with lady & gentleman. It's in excellent condition. The milkjug and sugarbowl sit on their own saucers. The handle on the sugarbowl had broken off and has been glued. There are "cracks" in the cup as shown in the photos, but these do not mark either the inner or outer surface. Read More
