SWARM COTTAGE / BAIT HIVE / HONEYBEE NUC
Swarming is part of the bees natural life cycle. It is the ways bees reproduce. Sadly, over 75% of swarms die within their first year as they have no suitable place to make a new home. You can help the bees by putting out a specially designed swarm cottage for the scout bees to find and lead the swarm to so as to set up their new colony and thrive. Our swarm cottages look spectacular and come in a whole range of lovely colours. They are laced with beeswax and special natural essential oils which attract the bees. Once in the cottage, the bees quickly build new comb in which they can start to store nectar and for the queen to start laying eggs. These cottages are ideally sited on a flat roof, shed, garage or extension, We have even known bees to occupy a cottage located 2 ft off the ground, on a stand, in a back garden Full instructions and everything you need (except a flat roof !!) are included with the swarm cottage. For a limited time we are also providing a free 'introduction to honeybees' workshop to help you understand what the bees are doing, why they are have swarmed and how to look after a colony in your swarm box. If you decide that you do not want to keep the bees, we can come and collect them and set up the cottage again for you to save another swarm. Read More
