Dutch designer wall light (presumably, because there is no mark any more) designed by Hiemstra Evolux in the s. The lamp has a white, fabric shade which is attached to a metal arm and a black wall bracket. The lamp swivels to the left and right. The lamp can also be adjusted in length, between 50 and 90 cm. Shade diameter is 30 cm, height is 15 cm. The white shade shows some spots (please see photos).The light has been used and is at least 40 years old, so don't expect it to be in new condition! Lovely shape and colour, and special technique.Designer and manufacturer unknown.The design is very organic with a beautifully shaped shade. The colour of the glass shade is between honey and beige. The light effect is very warm.Although this lamp is usually attributed to the Art Deco period (s), we suspect it is from the early s.The mounting mechanism is special; the metal ceiling plate has a handle so three sliding plates can be turned towards the inside or outside, so the shade is clamped down securely. It reminds us of the mechanism of old vaults.Although it is meant as a ceiling light, it can also be attached to the wall.Takes one E27 light bulb, in a screw fitting. The fitting is made of brass and porcelain.Measurements:Diameter: 24.3 cmHeight: 10.5 cmCondition:Very good for its age and use.Glass shade is completely pristine. A bit rough on the inside and some chips missing, but not visible.Some light surface scratches that aren't noticeably in daily use. The metal ceiling plate has light corrosion, particularly on the special clamping mechanism. The mechanism works. The circles are only punched in on the sides and then bent inward on the open sides. This is college-level metalworking. Exceptional mid century lamp.Entirely made of (sheet) metal.Fine geometrical design based on rectangular and square planes.The lamp has two types of "sides": the closed sides with an indirect light effect and the open sides with direct vision on the selected light bulb.This suggests that the lamp may have been intended as a wall light but there is nothing in the way of a wall mount or indications for this. In our opinion, it is more beautiful and logical to use it as a pendant light as presented here. Two colours: taupe and cream- white.Not signed (or no longer visible). Probable origin and period: Western Europe, around .Takes one E27 light bulb, in a screw fitting. Including 200 cm new cord, so ready for high ceilings.The current suspension has been installed by us and is not original. On the side edge on top of the suspension is a factory hole. It is not known what this was for. Measurements:Height: 20 cmWidth: 19.5 cmDepth: 15.5 cm.Condition:Good.Metal in very good condition.No deformation or damage.Various traces of use and age on the paint. There are mild darker spots due to heat and sunlight.There are various scratches and dots in the paint, especially in two of the three taupe planes.Very slight corrosion on some of the edges.
