Perfect condition Persian Isfahan circa late 20th Century. Originally purchased in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in . The area of production could be either the weaving centres of Qum or Isfahan as their productions are very similar but I believe that the attribution of Isfahan. The rug is of fine weave and quality with a high knot density in common with Isfahan rugs generally with a pile of wool with silk highlighting knotted with a Persian Ghiordes asymmetric knot. The rug is of prayer rug design being asymmetrical with two columns supporting a mihrab or prayer arch and the general design elements are typical of Isfahan rugs being curvilinear floral, arabesque, palmette, lotus and other motifs.
