GEOLOGY EARTH HISTORY BY CHAMBERLIN AND SALISBURY

This is a geology book called EARTH HISTORY by CHAMBERLAIN AND SALISBURY. It is Volume 11 Genesis - Paleozoic It is the Second Edition Revised, published before by John Murray. The preface to this Volume and Volume 111 is written by the University of Chicago and dated December . This book was a prize given to a Charles Edward Goulden in at the Bradfield College. Charles went on to have a prestigious career with Shell in the Oilfields, as a Chief Engineer, managing 3 Rigs at any one time. Charles served in the Indian Naval Reserve during the Second World War although he was British. His Father was also a Civil Engineer, winning the Miltary Cross and was mentioned in dispatches during the First World War. Being an old book it has some tanning and slight wear on the edges of the cover but it is tightly bound and good value. Chapters include The Origin of the Earth, The Hypothethical Stages leading up to the known Eras, The Archeozoic Era, The Proterozoic Era, The Cambrian Period, The Ordovician (lower Silurian) Period, The Upper Silurian Period, The Devonian Period, The Permian Period etc. There are many wonderful photographs but only three allowed here.
