Pepe is a long Haired German Shepherd Dog for Adoption

Pepe is a gorgeous large GSD recently arrived with us rescued from Spain. Pepe is 2 years old, he is very gently and very friendly. He was abandoned as a puppy found on the street unable to walk. He had 2 big operations on his front legs and lots of care in a foster home in Spain till he was able to travel. He is now fit and healthy and walks and runs with no problem. He is an indoor dog, he will not be adopted as a guard dog, he has absolutely no aggression and just wants to be loved, he is a family pet. Pepe is fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered. He also has a full EU passport. Pepe would be ok with other dogs as he is very friendly but not a pack, or as an only dog. He is ok with big and small dogs. He is around 2years old and is a typical reserved shepherd which needs just alittle short time to make sure you are not of any threat to him, then Diesel will spring into life with oodles of energy and cheekiness too. Diesel was brought into us recently as he was surrendered by his owner due to him not being able to afford his vet treatment, PTS was threatened and thankfully with Rescues working together, we were able to secure Diesels future by allowing him to come into us instead. Diesel is fully inoculated and microchipped, he adores a good run around, but would benefit from further training with his commands, and lead work too. He is alittle unsure when you are touching around his neck/collar, so we are working on this and he is being really great in accepting that he will not be hurt or dragged about by his collar again. This handsome boy will need a home which has some patience and understanding of the breed, as Diesel is the typical german shepherd where he will protect his home and his owner if he needs too, although we had no issues with this at all, this was his initial job to do with his previous owner but we think he was too soft for this kind of job. We would suggest a dog free home with Diesel in the beginning then slowly maybe after a few months introducing another dog into the home, as he does need to work through some training and not be side tracked by another dog etc. We have been instructed by the previous owner he did live with another dog but we feel for now it would benefit Diesel to be the only dog and keeping him socialised with other dogs so he does not lose the enjoyment of other canines. Cats we would suggest is a no -go I am afraid, He will chase them. As Diesel does bounce about alot, we would suggest children from 9-12yrs onwards or a child free home. The adorable STAR is just 4yrs old and already in rescue, picked up as a stray in the north west, we have been asked to find this handsome boy his forever home. Star is coming into our care shortly from Manchester Dogs Home - Mid June, and he will then be in our kennels in the South Yorkshire area. Alittle about Star, 4yrs old, neutered, microchipped and fully inoculated by the time of adoption. I have a family now which I absolutely adore but they have had to make the hard decision to give me another chance with another family. It makes me sad but I know they are doing the right thing. I pretend it embarrasses me but secretly I love it. I love to be with people and greet everyone with a big wag of my tail. When you sit down I just have to have a smell and touch your nose. HOME REQUIRED FOR TROY - IF YOU CAN NOT REHOME PLEASE SHARE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN - THANK YOU PROFESSIONAL HANDLER - OR RETIRED HANDLER ONLY PLEASE: Troy is an amazing 6yr old male long haired german shepherd, chocolate sable in colour. He has received professional protection training and vehicle searching to go in with the mix of it. An excellent working dog if I am honest, but his age is making him alittle old now to put him into working. He would thrive if he was able to do alittle more work, or if he was able to live with a retired dog handler or maybe someone who would like to lock up property/land every night and needed a dog which would look the part and alert to anyone hanging about etc. As Troy is a rescue dog and the older dog being 6yrs, we are unable to put him into full time working, as we do rehome dogs with the police and other working authorities. Ideally Troy needs a warm loving home but have the respect that he is professionally trained. We do not want to have him put on a yard and out in the cold every night sleeping - this is not what rescue is about - but we would be more than happy if Troy was able to help his owner/handler to do alittle work for a couple of hours and then go home with his owner to a nice warm comfy bed! Troy would suit being the only dog although he only is reactive when the other dog(s) starts with him first, he can socialise with dogs if supervised and introduced slowly. With regards to cats - although he was not reactive with a few cats with a foster home, with him being ball orientated sometimes this is looked upon as prey drive by a dog, and we would suggest either outside cats or being cat free (or where the dog can not get to the cat at all). Troy is neutered, microchipped and inoculated. He has a good appetite and will be a very faithful companion which is very eager to please for the return of a play with his beloved ball!
