An almost ready to go Jamet Louisiane trailer tent
We bought this TT as an experiment after camping for the past 31 years in a succession of larger and costlier tents. Weāre not sure if a TT isnāt too much for just the two of us, so weāre selling this one while we think about it. Iāll be honest about condition of the TT. We paid Ā£280 six weeks ago as the canvas has mould stains. Weāve cleaned and washed what we can ā particularly everything in the bed unit and steamed the mattresses and made sure the mould is dead. Condition of the waterproofing wasnāt mentioned, but I put two heavy coats of Fabsil Gold on the bed unit (roof and walls) then one good, heavy, coat on the living area canopy. Wish Iād gone for that second coat on the living āroofā as it dripped. The bed area stayed dry and snug and the living area walls didnāt let any water through ā that was after 82 hours continual heavy rain and gales up to 60 mph (gusted 80mph) in St Teeth, Cornwall. Didnāt think the TT would survive, but it did without any damage. We just threw a big blue tarp over the living area to keep rain out (glad we bought tie-down straps before setting out) and had a comfortable two weeks camping. Kitchen unit is in VG condition, one leg-hinge had been replaced with a length of aluminium, so itās a case of undoing a screw to fold/unfold legs. Just noticed the mud wall by the front door has a 6ā split where the peg held whilst the winds blew, itās an easy repair. Everything seems to be there, including both pup tents for under the beds, didnāt use them but they look okay. Poles seem to all be there but we had problem following previous owners colour coding (not as simple as he said) so we may have improvised a bit. I had printed off a copy of manual and pole layout so shouldnāt be a problem in future, just wish I hadnāt left them on my desk when we packed - DOH! Trailer is in very good condition, tows fine but no spare wheel, has one good tyre while the other could do with changing. Electrics work, rear lights mismatched but the other new one is in the storage box so just fix it on ā we werenāt bothered. Weāre asking Ā£230 as we paid Ā£280 then Ā£80 on Fabsil. Another coat of Fabsil should do the trick ā but it might take two or three. Iām going to suggest the TT should make an easy project for a family holiday and will happily answer any questions I can with honesty, but due to price I canāt offer any guarantee. Read More
