A traditional Swallows and Amazon type dinghy.
A traditional brown sail lug rigged dinghy, 11'6'' long and 5' across the beam. We don't know if it's a Swallow or an Amazon, but it's just like the boats used in the story. As a family of two adults and two children we've had great fun in it at Wells, Blakeney and Rutland Water. It's very stable and versatile. At the coast we would pack up the kids, a picnic and there was still room for a small outboard engine, should we need it. The fibre glass hull is sound, but there are some stress marks in the gel coating which would not be difficult to deal with if that's important to you, but it's ready to sail now. At one stage the tiller was broken. It's been replaced by a craftsman who made us a new one out of Ash. It comes with all rigging, two oars, rollocks, a cover and a road trailer which is in very good condition. The trailer has an integral winch so it can be used for launching and getting the boat back on the trailer when you're ready to come off the water. It's been stored in a dry barn. If you don't like the colours, we're willing to throw in two cans of green boat paint. There's a lot more years of fun still to have with this boat, it's easy to rig and sail, but our children have moved on to other things and it's been in the barn for over a year. it's time to let others enjoy her. Definitely worth viewing. Read More
