THOROWGOOD MAXAM " SYNTHETIC SADDLE, BRIDLE & ACCESSORIES.  (Ref: 396 R) " black MAXAM GP synthetic saddle.  Medium fit.  Measures approximately 10" from D-Ring to D-Ring.  Very good condition.  Will need girth straps replacing as they are a little worn.  Very easy to replace as they are the thread-through type (see photo).  Brown cob size Gallop flash bridle.  Stainless steel buckles.  Comfort headpiece.  Buckle billet fastenings - one keeper has been replaced and is not stitched to the bridle, but works fine (see photos).  Bridle comes with a 6" loose ring jointed snaffle bit and original rubber-grip reins.  There is a white 'Sports Horse' saddle cloth, a pair of English 'Heritage' brown stirrup leathers, a pair of 4.1/2" Peacock safety stirrup irons with treads, and a 48" Cottage Craft brown padded girth.  Excellent value starter set. This is a lovely little saddle that has had very little use. I swapped to bare-back pads shortly after I bought it and have never gone back - this is because my older ponies prefer the freedom of being ridden without the structure of a traditional saddle. I bought the saddle from Rideaway for £160 new. This saddle has no marks, tears or scuffs on it. It has always been protected with a cover.  The saddle is a wide - extra wide fit. The measurement between the d-rings is 8". This saddle also has additional flexibility in its fit as it uses the 'fish' system which is a series of inserts that slide into a pocket at the point of the tree on each side. I have never had to change the inserts currently in place. As it is, kids are given a nice size of knee roll to allow security whilst in their jumping position and the suede seat allows that little bit of extra 'stick-a-bility' for novice riders! This saddle was used for a pony that fits a 5'3" rug and is a native breed.  If I have missed anything out then please do not hesitate to get in touch. All the best
