AUGUST THONET B9 BENTWOOD CHAIR x 4 The Number 33 B9 style chair was first introduced in in Paris. It was initially designed as a writing desk chair since it was inexpensive and quite comfortable. The B9 Bentwood Chair was often used in designed by such designers as Le Corbusier and Poul Henningsen. The chair was reintroduced in at the Werkbund exhibition in Stuttgard where it became a very popular style. It is also notable that in the Deutsche Werkbund exhibition (an exhibition of 33 housing units, directed by Mies Van der Rohe, and the first gathering of architects working in the new International Style) half of the 16 architects used Michael Thonet's designed bentwood chairs. Highly customizable, the B9 bentwood chair is available in a number of seating options and finishes, including stains and lacquer finishes. The B9 bentwood chair is made in an original Michael Thonet factory in the Czech Republic.
