THE EVENING Join us at the Edinburgh Swing Ball for: - A beginner-friendly dance lesson starting at 7:15pm - Live swing music from Down for the Count (pictured right) - Floor show - Feature performance by Johnny Setlist - Fun and friendly competitions with exciting prizes - A chance to get some professional photographs of yourselves all dressed up! The evening will be hosted by Scott Cupit from Swing Patrol who recently featured on Dragonsâ Den. OUR FEATURE PERFORMER: Johnny Setlist! Johnny Setlist has been making music for many years now, and inspiration has come to him through many, many things, such as disparate films about war, the joy of Christmas, or the islands of Hawaii. However, it only took a few months of swing dancing for Johnny Setlist to be overcome with the idea for a song about the tumultuous world of learning to dance. He performed âI Wanna Learn To Danceâ to rapturous applause at Edinburghâs annual cabaret, and from then on in, he couldnât resist marking every swing dancing occasion with a signature song. Thus âViking Swingâ and the âUniversity of Swingâ were born into song format as Johnny Setlist established himself as a musical institution. And because he couldnât resist following through with an idea, he even gave Leedsâ own Swing Revolution its own title song, which he performed, once again, to a hearty and joyous crowd of unsuspecting swing dancers during the event in . Attend a swing event in Edinburgh and youâll more than likely find Johnny Setlist there, dancing, performing with a trusty instrument in hand, or, if the stage allows, doing both at the same time. Check out Johnnyâs SoundCloud for a taste of what to expect!
