I'm offering a complete 6 volume set of The Arabian Nights translated by Jonathan Scott (Oxford scholar and arabist). This is the first edition published in by Longman, Hurst et al. This translation represents the first full English translation of the full body of work of what we know as the Arabian Nights. Scott based his translation on Gallard's first French translation but re-edited it with the Arab text and enlarged on those existing stories. More importantly he also translated numerous other stories, previously unknown, for the first time using manuscripts he acquired on his travels and privately. Those manuscripts are now in the collection of the Bodleian Library. The set itself has been restored already and boards/gutters have been additionally strengthened. Internally the condition is very good for its age with some minimal spotting and fading. Overall a very nice, handsome set and very rare to find as a complete set.
