Tent in good condition,no tears or rips. One of the short poles was cracked but has given no problem since being repaired. There is a red mark on inner as shown on photo but is only cosmetic. Tent comes with waterproof pole cover which I have only used once.A ground sheet protector is also included. Tent is four years old but only used for less than forty days and always stored dry. The Terra Nova Solar Competition is an ultralight one person freestanding tent (you can pick it up and move it). It weights less than 100g more than the Terra Nova Laser Competition 1 but offers significantly more head room, stability and versatility. It can be pitched 3 ways - as a double skin tent (g), as an inner tent on it's own (670g) or as a flysheet on its own - which would be big enough for two people (630g). - Fantastic low weight (g), pack size (42cm x 8cm) and strength for a solo semi-geodesic tent - ideal for adventure racers and lightweight enthusiasts. - Genuine 3 season tent (should stand up to all but the very worst weather conditions). - Relatively quick and easy to pitch - Side facing porch for great views! - Generous bathtub inner groundsheet. - Three different pitching configurations - full double skin tent (g), inner tent only (670g), fly sheet only (630g!). Excellent 4 season, free standing tent (just perfect as a 1 man tent) that pitches in 5 minutes. Full details from the terra nova website, search on Southern Cross 2. Having decided to return to camping after quite some years away from the activity, I purchased this tent for its relatively compact size and weight (under 3kg), ease of pitch, storage space (has two vestibules) and weather resistance. As I’ve only used the tent once I can’t testify whether it lives up to its reputed capabilities, but I can confirm that I woke with the tent intact and around me in some 40 mph plus winds on a Cornish hillside!  Genuinely pleased with my selection of tent but, having used the tent once over a period of 5 days, I realise that I’m just too old for camping now, and miss my creature comforts! I’ve pitched the price (pun intentional) at a level that I’d feel comfortable to part with it (or otherwise keep): the ‘real-world price for the tent with footprint is £ (combined list price of £593).
