This rare and stunning notebook features a handwoven cover and beautiful thread-work in Mughal leaf motifs on the the front. Made with recycled paper,these notebooks were created by a cooperative of women weavers in Assam,India. Japanese wood block print from Japan

A print of a town fireman who are active at the scenes of fires during the Edo Period was popularly referred to as 'Edo Flowers'. Actors of the day are dramatically depicted, courageously poised to rush into the scene of a fire, carrying 'Matoi' (decorative poles) in their heavily tattooed arms. The print highly extols the 'courageous determination and style' of the ordinary fireman who risked his life to fight fires. It is not an original. It is a copy.
